Pune: Members of Tanishka Women’s Dignity Forum from all over the State are gearing up for the Jal Dindi being organised by Sakal Media Group as a part of its ‘Water for All’ campaign.
Tanishka members will welcome the Dindi in their respective cities and towns.
The Jal Dindi tours will start on August 28 from the Ashta Vinayaks, which are eight famous pilgrimage centres dedicated to Lord Ganesh, and tour the whole State. During the campaign, the members will announce new initiatives with respect to water conservation.
To know more about the ‘Water for All’ campaign, Tanishka members had called up call centre services (9225800800), besides also calling up bureau offices of Sakal in various cities across the State.
Under the initiative, Tanishka members were guided about how to organize women on local water challenges. Water bodies in 50 villages were de-silted through Sakal Relief Fund with the efforts of Tanishka members.
During International Women’s Day (March 8), these members also interacted via video conferencing.
There are plans to include school students in this initiative to spread awareness about water conservation. Tree plantation activity will be taken up by students.
Rainwater harvesting, de-silting of wells and lakes, awareness through street plays and other activities will also be organised.
