PIMPRI: Tanishka Women’s Dignity Forum group of Akurdi-Vitthalwadi has opened a free library of books pertaining to law for its members.
The library, which has been opened at the public relations office of Pimpri-Chinchwad corporator Javed Sheikh at Akurdi, has over 48 books to help women get access to information on various laws.
The forum members had earlier in their monthly meeting recommended that a free public library should be opened. Accordingly, Shaikh who is the founder of the group, helped in the procurement of the books. These books are on themes of the Hindu tradition – lease control law, civil laws, human rights, prohibition act, Muslim law, etc.
Those present during the opening ceremony were forum group president Geeta Sutar, members Ikhalas Sayyad, Minaz Sheikh, Nanda Gaikwad, Sulabha Dhande, Vibhavari Ingle, Vijaya Salunke, Lalita Mane, Vaishali Gaikwad, Sangita Parekh, Namrata Gurav, Vimal Gaikwad, Asha Shinde, Manisha Uttekar, Sangita Pawar, Rashida Momin, Prema Pujari, Rekha Gore and others.
Sutar stated that the need of the hour is that women acquaint themselves with various laws.

The Pimple-Saudagar group of Tanishka Women’s Dignity Forum recently organised yoga training classes. Corporator Sheetal Kate was present on the occasion. Also present were presidents of other groups — Sonali Kate and Rajashree Kate — along with members of all the three groups. Yoga trainer Anita Kulkarni guided the members on ‘Yog studies for women.’ This included Omkar meditation, Padmasan, Vajrasan, etc. She demonstrated the yoga aasanas to the participants of the classes.
