1:17 pm UTC

The State government’s ambitious scheme, Jalyukt Shivar has received an overwhelming tremendous response. “The project is not just a scheme, but has become a movement in Maharashtra”, said Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis during his Nagpur visit on Sunday.

Mr. Fadnavis visited Mondha, Ukhli, Junewani, Hingni, Katol and many other parts of the district to review the projects undertaken by the Jalyukt Shivar scheme.

During the CMs visit to Nagpur, the District Guardian Minister, Chandrashekher Bawankule, Divisional Commissioner, Anoop Kumar, District Collector, Sachin Kurve, Zilla Parishad’s CEO, Shivaji Jondhale and some other MLAs including a few government officials were present.

While addressing the press at Junewani, the Chief Minister announced the ongoing activities under this scheme in 6,000 villages in the state of Maharashtra. He also pointed out the dry and barren lands left unattended by the farmers; and believes that unless the farm land is brought under irrigation, farmers will not attain stability. An assurance that the Government is willing to release funds for the same was one of the highlights of the CMs visit. The work of 30 crore has been completed in areas falling under the Lok Sabha constituencies.

He further added that, “Around 20,000 villages will be drought free in the tenure of his Government in the State.”
